books.pngOn this page, you'll find answers to some questions we're often asked. If you can't find the answer to your question, please call us on 01202 544 238. We're open 9am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.

Who can I add to my health insurance?

You can add your partner or child to your health insurance package. They'll have the same cover package as you've chosen.

I’d like to use a hospital or specialist that isn’t on your list. Will I still be covered?

If you want to go ahead with treatment knowing that the costs will be covered, it's best to use a specialist and a hospital on our list.

You can choose to use any other hospital or specialist, but please note that we'll only cover part of the costs. You will need to pay the rest yourself, which could be a large amount of money. You should also note that sometimes we may not able to pay any fees.

If you're unsure what to do, please check with us by calling 0345 600 7696. It's always best to call us before you go ahead with any private treatment. Our claims team is available from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Can I call you, or do I have to do everything online?

We have experienced people available on the phone 9am to 8pm, Monday to Friday on 01202 544 238 and there's no charge for calling us.

How do I make a claim?

If you need treatment, please call us on 0345 600 7696 before you make your appointment.

Please call us as soon as you've seen your GP. One of our experienced claims advisers will check your cover and take you through the claiming process. You can call on 0345 600 7696 from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

What is not covered by this policy?

There a few things that are excluded from your health insurance - this is the same with almost all health insurance policies. Here are the main exclusions:

  • visiting your GP and the Accident and Emergency department
  • any conditions that you were aware of before you joined SecureHealth
  • ongoing treatment of long-term illness
  • routine pregnancy and childbirth.

Unless you choose a specific Add-on to cover them, you also won't be covered for the following:

  • treatment of mental health problems
  • out-patient consultations and tests.

When you join, we'll send you detailed information about what is and isn't covered.

What about if I already have a medical condition?

If you already have a condition (or think you may have one), please let us know before you sign up. Sometimes we can offer you an option that will let you join and get cover for that condition in the future. But if you don't tell us and you later need to make a claim, we may not cover your treatment.
